FAQ's
Are your services covered by my insurance?
Dr. Ritz does not contract with any insurance companies. That means that she does not accept insurance as payment. However, if your insurance plan offers coverage for out-of-network provider visits or programs, you may have the opportunity to receive some reimbursement directly from your insurance company. Dr. Ritz is happy to provide any information required to accomplish this. It is the patient’s responsibility to find out whether or not her services may be covered, and to complete and file all paperwork with insurance companies for reimbursement. In addition, Dr. Ritz’s services can be paid for with a Health Savings Account.
Do you guarantee that I will achieve the results I’m looking for?
While Dr. Ritz cannot guarantee specific results, she does guarantee that if you don’t make any changes to your life, your health will likely not change. Her program is really designed for women who are willing and able to step up as a partner in creating the health outcomes they are looking to create. The success of the program relies on the patient being a fully engaged participant, open to making changes, willing to provide feedback that can guide your plan’s direction, and able to participate in finding and creating your own solutions. Since you know your body better than any health expert out there, your active engagement, input, and feedback with the program is key to its success.
How long does it take to get results with your program?
This varies greatly depending on what types of issues you are currently experiencing, how long you have been experiencing them, and how quickly you are willing and able to make changes. Most women begin to experience improvements within the first several sessions after completing testing and getting started with their personalized plan.
How do I know if this approach will work for me?
This is a FANTASTIC question! You will likely achieve the results you want with this approach if you are:
- Open-minded
- Willing to really look at the areas of your life that are impacting your health
- Willing to make changes accordingly
- Willing to be an active participant and fully engaged in your healing process
- Willing to feel hopeful and optimistic about your results
This program is NOT for you if you are:
- Looking for a quick fix or magic pill
- Not expecting to have good results
- Not willing to be fully engaged as an active participant
- Not willing to commit to shifting your life and lifestyle in a way that truly supports your vibrant health
Do you work directly with other practitioners in a group or team setting?
Currently Dr. Ritz works as a solo practitioner who will refer to practitioners or professionals outside her practice as needed based on the type of support a woman requires. Her recommendations are as personalized and customized to each patient as the rest of each patient's plan.
What can I expect from you as my doctor?
Dr. Ritz does not function as a primary care physician, so she encourages all patients to have a primary care physician as well as any other relevant specialists. As such, she does not provide routine (yearly physicals, etc.) or acute (sinus infections, etc.) care. Rather, she functions as more of a consultant, and her approach and recommendations can be used alongside care provided by other practitioners. She utilizes her expertise in Functional Medicine and Age Management Medicine along with her background and training in conventional medicine to uncover imbalances in physiology that are contributing to symptoms and create a plan to treat any physiological imbalances that are discovered. Treatments often include (but are not limited to) food as medicine, nutritional supplements, movement recommendations, stress management, detoxification, and other lifestyle changes specific to your needs and situation.
Where do our sessions take place?
This is based on your preference. Dr. Ritz is available for in-person sessions at her office location, Brandywine Center for Integrative Medicine in Greenville, Delaware. She is also available to do phone or internet-based sessions (via Zoom) based on patient location and preference. A New Patient Session must be either in-person or internet-based (via Zoom).
How do I get started in this program?
